You may not be familiar with wine varietals like Marquette and Traminette, but a sheep and cattle ranch turned winery is having big success with the cold climate varietals. Fox Fire Farms has the only winery in La Plata County in Southwest Colorado. They are about 30 minutes from Durango in Ignacio.
The tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday 1-6pm through October 31st then by appointment only November 1st through May 15th. Through September 25th, they do Friday Night at Fox Fire Farms with love music, food, and of course Fox Fire wines.
There is a beautiful villa on the farm that is available to rent for weddings and events.
