Wine Company Opens Cellar Doors to Public

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado’s second largest wine producer opens it’s doors to guests Wednesday morning, showing how things are done behind the scenes.

Talon Wine Brands presented their 5th Annual Industry Days, where the company opens their cellar doors allowing the community a tour of their facility, showing everything from how their wines are produced, bottled and packaged. Afterwards, guest had the opportunity for wine tasting.

Organizers say the event allows people to gain appreciation of the wine industry.

“You see so many people that taste something today, that they would have never tasted otherwise, and knowledge is power, so if they can taste it, if they know the notes of what’s in it, if they know how it’s made they have a better appreciation for it,” said James Ferguson, Sales Manager of Talon Wine Brands.

While visitors agree, saying the event gives them a better idea of the hard work that goes into producing wine.

“Just seeing how they do everything and the process they go through, the bottling station, and just all the different ways that they make the wine, and the mead and everything else, it’s very fascinating and hands on,” said Michael Flynn, Industry Days visitor.

The wine company will be holding another round Thursday afternoon, where they’re expecting close to 100 guests from the beverage industry.

That event is located at Meadery of the Rockies in Palisade on Thursday, February 7th, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
