Using TripAdvisor to Acquire New Customers with Pierre Costa

CAVE and the CWIDB jointly welcome Pierre Costa for a webinar on Monday, April 26, 2021, 1:00 PM that offers a unique opportunity to explore new digital channels that can bring customers to your winery doorstep. We will start with an overview of the digital marketing environment and have a hands-on seminar where we will setup a campaign on TripAdvisor.  We will present a practical example about targeting the right audience, creating your own ads using Canva, set up your budget and how to track it on your Google Analytics.

After Pierre’s presentation, Harvest Hosts will give an overview of their program that matches RV drivers and campers with wineries and vineyards for low-impact overnight stays.  The average guest spends more than $50 with the host winery.

Pierre Costa is based in Napa Valley, California and has an exotic mix of digital marketing and wine experience. He founded SommDigital, a consulting firm that develops and implements innovative digital marketing strategies specializing in wineries. He also lectures at Sonoma State University on Strategic Marketing, Wine E-commerce and Digital Marketing. Before he moved to Napa, he spent over five years working with Digital Media Agencies in London (England) and Dublin (Ireland) managing the digital marketing of large corporate accounts including Bank of Ireland and eircom (telecom). He spent 10 years working in the wine industry in high knowledge positions including head sommelier for star Michelin restaurant Bon Appetit in Dublin (Ireland) and Café Journal in Brazil along with finance and marketing roles with Inglenook winery, Delicato Family Wines, and Naked Wines. He is known for having a fantastic palate which was proven when he won the 2014 Top Taster blind wine tasting competition at Flavor! Napa Valley. He holds a MIT Digital Marketing Analytics Certificate, Masters degree in Electronic Business from University College Dublin and an Honors degree in Mathematics from UNESP. Pierre is a passionate Star Wars fan and enjoys archery and meditation.
