Meet Our New Extension Viticulture Specialist on the Monthly Grower Conference Call

Our monthly grape-grower conference calls resume on a new day and at a new time as we introduce Miranda Ulmer, CSU’s new Extension Viticulture Specialist.  Miranda just completed her Master of Science with an emphasis in Viticulture from Oregon State University, where she studied under one of the leading extension viticulturists in the country, Dr. Patty Skinkis.  Miranda is passionate about extension and sharing knowledge and resources with grape growers.

Recognizing that most grape-growers will be out in the fields in the morning, we are moving the monthy grower conference calls to Noon, the first one on June 17, in the hopes you will be able to join these calls while you take lunch.  You can join the call on your computer or smart phone by going to www.uberconference.com/cwidb and using VoIP to join the meeting.  Or you can simply call 720.515.1880 to join the call and talk with Miranda.  Join this conference call to learn about Miranda’s background, objectives and priorities for her position and to share what you would like to see from the Extension Viticulture Specialist.

This position is funded by a Specialty Crops Block Grant awarded to the wine industry by the Colorado Deparment of Agriculture with matching funds from CAVE and the CWIDB.  Miranda will be working out of the WCRC—Orchard Mesa location, although she will be under the administration of CJ Mucklow, CSU Extension’s Director of the Western Region.

You can also join the call in person at CSU’s Western Colorado Research Center—Orchard Mesa, 3168 B 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81503-9621 or at the Colorado Department of Agriculture, 305 Interlocken Pkwy, Broomfield, CO 80021. Miranda will be join this call from Indiana, as she won’t start in Colorado until the first full week of July.

Call 720.304.3406 with questions or if you have any trouble joining the call.
