Colorado Wines Celebrate Black History Month

You can view the Colorado Wine Board’s conversation Celebrating National Drink Wine Day and Black History Month from Feb. 17th, posted on ColoradoWine on Facebook.com.  Our panelist were:

  • Adrian Miller, James Beard Award winning author and Soul Food Scholar blogger who is the public ex-officio member of the Colorado Wine Industry Development Board appointed by Governor Polis;
  • Kendra Anderson, the creator, owner and operator of the recently pandemic-closed bar helix, {winner Westword Denver *and* 5280 Best New Bar 2018, Eater Denver’s 2018 Bar of the Year}, and Cabana X. As the only POC female bar owner in Denver, Kendra leveraged her experience as a professional chef, advanced sommelier, and event planner along with her personal relationships and social media prowess to curate one of the most inclusive, diverse spaces in the Mile High City. Kendra formerly authored SwirlGirl, a weekly wine column in Westword, and has written about wine + lifestyle for numerous publications.
  • and William Davis, a sommelier and Director of Education for importer Wilson Daniels. He holds the titles of Certified Wine Educator from the Society of Wine Educators, Certified and Advanced Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers (studying for his MS, too) and the Advanced Certification from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.
