A tasting of the Gold Medal-winning wines in the 2026 Governor’s Cup Competition, along with special small bites created by chefs inspired by this year’s winning wines.
New this year, all 50 Gold Medal wines will be invited to pour at the event. This means a larger selection of wines to explore and more opportunities to discover your new favorite!
The Governor’s Cup Collection and the winner of the 2026 Governor’s Cup Best in Show will be announced at this event as well. The Colorado Wine Industry is proud to partner once again with History Colorado on this event, which will be held once again at the beautiful History Colorado Center in downtown Denver.
VIP TICKETS
VIP, limited to 150 tickets: Entry at 6:00 pm for exclusive access to the Governor’s Cup Gold Medal wines and the winemakers paired with small bite menu items from some of Colorado’s most celebrated chefs. The VIP-only lounge opens at 7:00 pm with library wines from previous years along with a more extensive food offering.
COST: $175 ($188.58 including fees)
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETs

Medal Criteria
Please see the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal criteria for awards starting in 2026. Double Gold was part of the award structure through 2025.
Gold Medals | Shows exceptional depth and drinkability beyond Silver Medal wines or any other wine in the competition; a world-class wine.
A Gold Medal denotes wines that exemplify their varietal character, terroir or stylistic expression in such a way that makes them memorable and desirable –
- Wines that you would not only recommend, but seek out and purchase
- Regardless of personal preference, exemplifies how the variety, style, or terroir is supposed to taste like
Silver Medals | Show depth and drinkability well above or beyond accepted industry standards.
A Silver Medal denotes a wine with special qualities –
- Distinctive (unique) qualities
- Character that would cause you to recommend or purchase this wine
Bronze Medals | Awarded to wines showing no significant flaws or faults; drinkability above accepted industry standards.
A Bronze Medal denotes a well-made wine –
- Good, solid quality
- Would recommend to others and be happy to drink yourself
